Hey Boils and Ghouls!

Post by Shiney on Wed Nov 13, 2013 9:32 pm

I realize...we realize, it has been quite some time since we've used this forum in a way befitting, well, a forum.

Facebook and Twitter and other shit have usurped the once vibrant fun from this place.

Let's bring it back.

Let us once again joke and carry on, blather and share links and anecdotes.

Rave and rant and brag and support.

Let's get it going on....again.

Word!!!headbang

I have no time for this tomfoolery... oh wait... I thought this was Pinterest.

Yes, let's once again forumify.

It would be nice. Shame the immediacy of Twitter and Facebook overshadows forums these days. Here, a conversation can last years. Or it can be resurrected years after its last post. On social media sites, the conversation is, essentially, gone in the blink of an eye.

I like those sites, of course, but forums are better. And I probably sound like an old person now. Haha.

Okay, here's something funny--I went to a hockey game last night. ME, AT A HOCKEY GAME!!!! I didn't know what was going on, and was mightly amused by how seriously everyone took it--when people were cheering after a goal I'd be cheering, "This doesn't change our lives one bit, in the scheme of our actual lives nothing is different!" But that's just me being an ass, I had fun just because it was something different and I was out with my sweetie.

Yeah, I don't get hockey, either. It's boring to me. Of course, I watch baseball, which is the most boring sport ever to non-fans. And every game is like FOUR hours long.

I don't get most sports...and I'd love to catch James in that production!

The play was so good, powerful and moving and beautiful. And James in his multiple roles was so impressive.

Thanks so much, Mark.  It was a challenge, but a lot of fun.  Glad you enjoyed it, and very relieved to hear that you didn't think I stunk up the stage.  heh

Seriously . . . I'm very proud to have been a part of this.  It's gonna be bittersweet to see it end today.

All joking aside:  there were multiple small cameras hidden about the auditorium, recording from different angles.  If you remember that 48-Hour Film Project I was involved in a couple of years ago, the dude who shot/directed that is gonna take the footage, edit a nice little video of the show for us.  So you could see it one day soon, if you'd like.   Smile

He played multiple roles in this, and he was very good. Especially as a black prison inmate.
