Anyone venturing out to see this tomorrow? I read Adam Cesare's review and am intrigued.

Enjoy it. I personally can't stand Rob Zombie, but it would be nice if this movie were somehow good.

Yeah, I've seen his others. Including the TERRIBLE Haunted World of El Superbeasto, which I HATED, and I'm definitely not a fan of the wife/muse Sherri Moon Zombie's ridiculous pouty mouthed acting style.

But I like the rock and roll premise he's going with here, and Bruce Davison who was Reverend Parris in The Crucible is putting in an appearance, so I'm curious.

Like all his movies, the opinions seem to be along the love/hate line. The guy can't catch a break. Haha.

I'll wait for the DVD.

The use of "Freebird" in the closing shoot-out of The Devil's Rejects was interesting. Too bad the rest of the movie wasn't interesting. Still, if you see this new movie, let us know what you think of it, KD!

The ending was brilliant, and the movie was very good. My opinion, at least. I also enjoyed House of 1,000 Corpses quite a bit as well.

Did you guys see Adam Cesare's write-up on it?

It's a good read.

Considering seeking this out tonight, but not too many places seem to be showing it here.

I really liked House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects for their immersive flavor, for lack of a better way of describing it. With some films, the overall experience, lighting, tone, etc. are enough for me to get lost in their worlds for a while and tune out grinding parts, to an extent (Dark City or Fulci's The Beyond come to mind).

Anyway, I'm hoping to see it. Adam's review, and his opinion of the earlier films, made me confident I'll likely enjoy it. I just hope Sheri Moon doesn't do that cackling laugh in it. God...

LORDS OF SALEM was probably my favorite Rob Zombie film so far. Granted, that's not saying much (I thought HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES had some cool, creepy moments, but overall it felt like he threw in everything but the kitchen sink and it didn't really work for me . . . I saw THE DEVIL'S REJECTS once, didn't hate it but have no desire to ever see it again . . . I thought HALLOWEEN was a nice try but ultimately a failure, and I doubt I'll ever see its sequel).

I think, for the most part, LORDS OF SALEM was another RZ miss for me. That said, however, I do plan on buying the Bluray sooner or later if I can find it for really cheap. Although in the end I was left disappointed, there were definitely parts in LORDS OF SALEM that I found very, very effective. Certain images gave me goosebumps. When all was said and done, even though I didn't care for the film as a while, I still couldn't stop thinking about certain moments of the film. So, I guess I kinda liked it. Even though I didn't.

Weird, huh?
