Hey Totemites! I was just reading about the storm. How are all of you doing? Anybody need help that we know of?

Oh hey - been good here too. Reminds me of the snowbanks we used to have when I was a kid.

At least three of us live! Wink

It snowed in Vegas. So I can only imagine what everybody is dealing with.

Although I am FROM the east coast (Boston area) I currently live in Europe... my kids were drifted over Friday until yesterday, though. Very Happy

Where about? I'm from Brockton.

Anyway, missed this thread the other day. We never lost power, so we were lucky. The streetlights kept going out so I figured it was only a matter of time, but the power only ever flickered here. Cable went out once. That was it.

The snow sucked, of course.

It seems like things are pretty much under control. I was expecting...I don't know what I was expecting. Superstorm Sandy-type problems? The Snowpocalypse? *gasp* DRIFT?

We're pretty used to big snow storms, but this was a lighter snow so it wasn't that bad. A heavier, wetter snow would have made things a lot worse. That's when trees come down, roofs collapse, power lines go down, etc. It's bad.

The worst storms are those that start as wet snow, turn to rain, then the temp drops below freezing.

We started in Michigan with that cold dry two weeks back, then shifted into the hot-cold, wet-dry mode. Seems like we've been living in a cloud. It's played havoc on my PC but at least I'm not needing to navigate the ice-roads too often. There were several pile-ups between whiteouts and ice. We're used to lots of snow here, too, but there no denying that this is some strange weather going from 60's to 0 and back within hours.
