In hardcover? If it's a first edition, you could make a chunk of change on it. Most will probably be the book club edition, though, so be careful.

Saw the brief trailer for this at the end of the True Blood premiere last night. It says it's coming in 2011.

This series is also a favorite of mine, but like everyone else I am frustrated at Martin's long "lead time" between books (will "Dance with Dragons" never come out? ). It makes me wonder how closely HBO will follow certain plot lines like

Spoiler:
The "special" relationship between brother and sister Jaime and Cersi.

I wouldn't really consider that a spoiler, but in case someone has yet to read the series...

Yeah, that's a tough one, I would think. Vrey taboo, even for HBO.

From what I understand there will be both incest and flying children.

I wonder if they'll have this scene intact:

Spoiler:
Jaime, recently minus one of his hands, banging (practically raping) his sister Cersi on top of the tomb of their dead son

I don't see why not. I don't think HBO is shy about...well, anything.

You may be right. If I recall, there was a scene in Rome that showed a guard ass-raping a little boy.

I think Pullo put an end to him. Haha.

The use of an effective ass-rape scene is undervalued, in my opinion. An example of an ineffective ass-rape is in Hunted Past Reason by Richard Matheson.

No one replied, so I will assume you all ran to read Hunted Past Reason. If so, I am sorry.

Lots of new casting news over at Not a Blog. HBO seems to really be gearing up for this one. I cannot wait.

I've been following it. Seems that every update is about the series. Hopefully they pull it off. I already know two people who've seen the trailer and picked up the first book. Both love it. So that's cool.

You know HBO won't screw it up. Also, GRRM is thrilled with everything so far, which says a lot, in my opinion. (Second trailer and 'in production' was added a few hours ago)

I've been trying to not even think about this until it's on. Then it will be real.
