You know D...I think Ken should pony up the cash for you to perform at the ST table. They'd be original, at least!

Smile Full confession - I taught John Skipp how to belly dance while we were outside smoking at WHC. Not a whole dance, mind you, but one move. He did a damn good job, too!

The only belly-dance show I've been to was in Bahrain. It was surreal. This was before 9/11 and all that, so it wasn't as dangerous. Very cool experience, though.

Belly dance, when done right, is a beautiful art form. When done wrong? Oh, dear, don't get me started...

The place in Bahrain was underground, dark, everyone sat on these plush, colorful, intricately designed couches with pillows and such. There were hookas on every table, fruit-flavored smoke in the air. I felt like I was in a fantasy novel. Haha.

Yep, sounds like a lot of the places I danced in. MD/DC/VA has a lot of Arabic clubs and restaurants with that sort of atmosphere.

I would totally dance at a convention, though, but I'm afraid there's no connection between horror and belly dance. Um, other than the fact that I write horror and I'm a (now retired) belly dancer. Very Happy

Damien! I'm so glad you're coming!

Last year they had a bellydancing convention the week before Killercon. It was amazing.

Hey now, I'm not that old! But after performing professionally for eight years, I'd just had enough. Multiple gigs a night, driving like mad to make my shows on time, the wear and tear on the body...it takes its toll after a while. I had a great run and was able to retire while at my peak, so to speak.

That's very cool! I probably know many of the dancers who attended. I've been to many, many belly dance conventions over the years.

I'm looking very forward to KillerCon!

What up, everybody! Damn, it's been way too long since I've been at this forum. It was great meeting all of you! Had a damn blast!

The Shock Totem crew is solid. I wish we could have spent more time kickin' it, but I'm glad we got to meet. I'm still having Killercon withdrawals.

Anyone going to Bizarrocon? I was convinced in the smoking hallway by the elevators at Killercon to hit Bizarrocon, even though I can't afford it.
