What a nice man Pete is...

Post by steven pirie on Fri Apr 29, 2011 3:44 am

In an attempt to keep my profile raised in selling Brian, the wonderful Pete Tennant has reproduced a review he did of Digging up Donald for The Third Alternative way back in 2004. It's here http://www.ttapress.com/1063/disinterring-donald/0/5/ if anyone wants to take a look.

I hovered near the lightbulb for months after this and other Donald reviews...

Duck Tape is a brand of duct tape. No one says duck tape because they're referring to the brand! Haha.

Anyway, some day I'll read your books. Once the price is right for my budget. I loved the final story in the recent free collection you put out. All of them were good, don't get me wrong, but that last one was very Pythonesque.

Yeah, unfortunately I have no control over price.

The last one was the short story from which the novel grew. So, if you liked that then hopefully you'd like the novel too. Donald is available on smashwords for 5 dollars, and Brian will be there too soon I'm told...

Duh! Problem solved. Just ordered it.

Though I have a Kindle, I never think of e-versions as an option.

I just got a Kindle, and now e-versions are the options I look for *first*.

I'm going to pick up a Kindle next week (it's a holiday weekend in the UK what with Royal nuptuals and a bank holiday on Monday too).

It scares me in some ways, as like Ken blogged (or was it Totemed?) not so long back it's rather like stepping away from traditional print. But, I suppose one must grasp nettles...

It's definitely scary if you're an author. I have friends who are already stealing e-books. They blame the high prices, but that's just a nice excuse. Because when I pointed out that The Zombie Feed was only $2.99, they didn't seem to keen on buying it, and more than once they told me to "just send it to them."

When it's "free," people will take it.
