A quick question

Post by steven pirie on Fri Apr 01, 2011 6:08 am

I'm sending a rare snail mail submission, so does anyone know how much US postage these days should I put on the SAE to get a accept/reject reply letter back to the UK?

I can do it with an IRC, but way back when I was snail mailing a lot to the states I bought some US stamps, so I thought I may as well use them up...

Depends on the size and weight of the package. You can calculate it here:

Snail mail is full of charm. I have a couple of friends that I still write letters to.

I hate it, personally. My sister still sends out tons of cards and letters, though.

Really? You're not delighted to receive mail? Are you even human? If I cut you, do you spark?

I suppose receiving it is okay, although I usually don't, except for packages. I hate sending anything by snail mail. It's a hassle.

Steven - if you don't care about getting the manuscript back, and only want to supply a SASE for a single-page rejection (or acceptance, I guess), we have "forever stamps" now that change in value as the postage rates rise. Just slap one of those on and it'll be good no matter when they reply.

I like the sound of 'forever stamps'! Thanks for the tip...
