Hello, Clarice.

My husband downloaded Hannibal Lecter's voice for our Tom Tom. He says things like, "That was a slippery move, driver, but keep to the left," and "Even though you need to turn right, why don't you take the time to ask me about Buffalo Bill?" It's so freakin' awesome!

He IS the best villian ever! I was just discussing that with somebody! He has a lot of depth, character, and he's a monster that loves. That cold compassion is unexpected and delightful. I love it.

Plus his driving voice is a million times better than a snobby "recalculating!" voice.

Also, we changed our car avatar to Chuck Norris. Driving is just so much more fun now. Wink

I think Lecter is one of the best written characters ever. He's incredibly believable, as well as intelligent, cold and compassionate (as you said). I think every woman who saw Silence of the Lambs growing up has a Hannibal Lecter thing. Cannot be helped.

Chuck Norris car avatar? Total win.

The last Hannibal book blew me away. It was awesome. I couldn't believe they changed the ending in the movie when the real one was so incredibly bizarre. I need to reread that.

I didn't see Silence of the Lambs until I was in college, and then I started to read the books. So great!

I fell in love with SotL. I was a kid... 10, I think, when i saw it. Maybe 11 when it was first available on VHS. I've got to admit, though, that the books are kiss-my-ass-and-call-me-crazy good. I didn't appreciate that until recent years though.
