Movies I'm Looking Forward To

Post by Kenwood on Fri Jan 14, 2011 3:33 am

There's a number of movies I'm looking forward to this year. Some horror, most not. Figured I'd post trailers here as they become available. Maybe it'll generate discussion.

Black Death.

Period films are my favorite. When they mix in horror...fuck yeah!

Jane Eyre.

A new adaptation, this one seemingly much darker than all those previous—that I've seen anyway. It seems to stick more closely to the dark elements of the book.

The Eagle.

There's no shortage of material to mine from Roman history. This one looks bad-ass!

Priest.

Futuristic, alternate Earth vampire film. Looks killer! Has a Dark City feel, huh? Not in action, but in look.

Cowboys and Aliens.

Seriously. When I heard about this, I expected a comedy. But this shit is serious! And it looks epic!

Season of the Witch.

Yeah, I know. Nicholas Cage. I don't mind him, even if he's a bit wooden. But this one looks good. Could be shit, though.

I'm looking forward to Cowboys and Aliens, too. I adore Daniel Craig. He's my #1 star crush, followed by Steve Buscemi. Smile

Battle LA is another one that looks cool:

Definitely CvA. I remember seeing a preview for that before Harry Potter.

Which reminds me...part 2 of the finale for that little series comes out this coming July. I think I'm most excited for that one.

Weird.

I haven't seen the latest Potter. Figured I'd wait for them both on DVD.

I love Japanese horror. There's a movie out called CARVED: THE SLIT-MOUTHED WOMAN that is based on this absolutely terrifying Japanese urban legend.

Kuchisake-onna

What's even freakier is that the urban legend is still going on! It's just so dark. I totally dig it.

Looks interesting. Zeppelin doesn't just let anyone use their songs, so that's a good sign too.

Another medieval epic:

Sweet!

And this one's not a movie, but a new series on Starz:

I don't have Starz so I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD, but it looks great. Spartacus was awesome, so I'm encouraged.

I could live without the lame music, though. Thirty Seconds to Mars were so good on that first album, but emo-pop crap they do now steenks!

I'm sort of keen to watch that new Showtime series "THE BORGIAS"...looks nifty.

And Jeremy Irons is badass!

Ooh! Thanks. Hadn't seen that. I now add this to my list!

Seems like it focuses more on drama than action, like they did with The Tudors. Very cool. And the trailer is rockin' some Within Temptation. Nice!

yeah, when we saw the commercials for this over the weekend...I thought of you, and not in the usual dreamily foggy-sexy way.
