This was the only piece of fiction that was new to me, and I was impressed. I think it fits very well with the rest of the issue and is one that I probably would have voted to accept if it had come to us via the regular submission process. Kudos, Seven!

Why, thank you... that's praise indeed...

This story, as well as two others, made me deem this issue the Gender Identity Disorder issue. Haha.
A very good story. I think it'll be this issue's "Below the Surface" (the dark and very fantasy tale from issue #1), the story that challenges expectations the most.
A medieval lesbian love story in a horror mag? GASP! =)

Steven:
I like the gendered contrast you make between sex (male, coarse) and love (female, gentle), and how Ruth uses the former to achieve the latter. It fits the medieval context very well.
And I'm with Ken... but perhaps Re-order is better than Dis-order? Gothic and horror have always been subversive and disruptive to the status quo -- it's what they do best, methinks.

Yeah, that was Joseph Morgado's post. He changed his username.

You know, I thought it was a Joseph first time around, and then I thought I was going mad, and then I thought 'Guest' would be a cool username!
