I would love to see this one adapted to comics form. It was so vividly visual.

What I liked most about this story was that it wasn't until issue #3 was finished, and I'd gone over this thing twenty times or so, before I stopped and thought, wait...this is a zombie story!

This is my favourite so far. Really good characterisation, and very poignant at times. I like that it's not an 'in your face' zombie tale, that there's clearly something to like about our protagonist, a real innocence.

I read this again with fresh eyes when I got my first copy of #3 and I was shocked at how good it is. And I read it and voted for it! lol

kurtnewton wrote:Now this one's a different kind of zombie story. The third person narrative is so personal and through-the-eyes-of-a-child in tone it almost reads like a first person narrative, which helps place the reader firmly in the story. The world created here is post-apocalyptic and filled with some interesting characters, but I felt that this is only a chapter to a much larger story. Yes, the dreaded "not complete" story. Razz
Noooooooooooo!

Kurt, you keep us honest. rockon

I gave this one read and wanted it desperately. Such painful innocence in this tale. It's one of my faves of the issue.

I've been hiding from the internets lately but I thought I'd drop by and say thanks for reading my story and thanks to you fine Totemites for giving it a chance. I remain humbled. rockon

This one sucked me in right away. What a great take on the Zombie tale. I couldn't tell at times if the kid had leprosy (his nick name suggest it) or if some other virus that mimics leprosy or if the Zombie strain was a mutated leprosy virus or what, but it was a great story.
