Mercedes has more emotion than a box full of soap operas. And skill at teasing those emotions out... well, what can I say?

Thanks, Seven. I was actually extremely hesitant to use this subject matter because it hits so close to home. In fact, the first draft that I sent in to staff really sucked, hardcore. I pulled myself so far away from the emotion that it read like a straight-up journalism piece, and that wasn't what we wanted. Ken actually said that I needed to cry while I rewrote the piece, which was great, if harsh, advice. I pretty much cursed his name during the rewrites, but I'm pleased with the end result.

It could be tricky if people from home read this, but since nobody there reads my work, I'm golden! Wink
