I second your yay! I'm hooked. The horse killed me in Episode 1 but the "We need more guts" scene from Episode 2 was fantastic!

Haven't watched ep2 yet, but I dug the first one.

That little girl zombie in the opening scene, though, looked terrible! The makeup work was horrid. I almost changed it right then and there.

I'm an episode behind on this as I cannot stay up that late on SUn days and I have to catch them On Demand, and they run a week behind....But the first and second episodes were great.

Always nice to see the fantastically disturbing Michael Rooker in something.

I hope the show can keep it going.

The Walking Dead

What are everyone's thoughts on the last two episodes? I'm still in shock that first Dale and now Shane have been killed. I did just read though that Shane was always going to be killed since that's how it was in the comic strip.

I think it's a smart move to disable the moral compass of the group.

Dal and Shane were the poles on the compass. Moral good and Batshit nasty. Without them what will happen?

The main issue I had with this episode was where did all those fucking zombies come from!? They've been on that farm wor weeks and weeks with only a few zombies showing up...and now in one day BLAMMO! Hordes are closing in on the farm... Wtf!?

I also like that they are hinting that the pathogen is alerady in everyone. Once you die, you turn. A bite or scratch just introduces a "double dose" and kills you quicker.

Now if only Rick's twat-of-a-wife would go away.

She's not that bad! Personally I'm not going to miss either Dale or Shane. They were both kind of annoying in their extrems. I also don't like the blond chick who's sister got turned. Now that I'm thinking about it I'm trying to figure out who I do like. I'd have to go with Rick, Glenn and Daryle, wow it's a small list.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're all already infected. Remember the end of season 1, when the doctor whispered something to Rick? I'm thinking that's what he told him, that they're already infected.

At this point my short list is titled "Walking Dead Characters I Want To Die But Not Necessarily Die Screaming".

But if Rick new they were already infected why would he be suprised when Shane came back to life?

I read that scene as being Rick was hovering over the body, waiting for Shane to turn, and then was taken by surprise when Carl showed up, thereby getting distracted.

^^ That was how I took it.

Recall the episode when they too Randall to release him and Shane and Rick fought for a year? They found those security guards and Shane checked 'em out and said to Rick "No bites or scratches"...Rick didn't really acknowledge him...I took that as he already knew they all carry the virus.

I believe Andrea will die in the finale.

My only stock in this belief is that Frank Darabont directed part of this season... Frank Darabont has certain actors he likes to work with, his stable.

The dude who played Dale and Andrea are both in that stable. 'Dale" was in Green Mile and The Mist.

I think when AMC made the decision to jettison Darabont, the actors in his stable optred out as well...thus they are dropping this season.

I want T-Dog to do something besides be the token black man in the ensemble...it's ridiculous.

I read an interview with the woman who plays Andrea after Dale died, and she said she was surprised that they killed him off so soon, which deviates from the graphic novels. She said, however, that she didn't feel she had to worry about being killed off because in the graphic novels she's alive at the end.

Of course, many say they're deviating from those, so I don't know. This interview was done like two weeks ago, so I'd assume she'd already know if she was going to die. Then again, she'd have to lie about it, huh?

Either way, they're going to have to introduce some more dynamic characters in season 3, new characters or bring some secondary characters like T-Dog to the forefront. And I hope all of Hershel's children except Maggie die in the season finale, because they're totally fucking pointless. His son? Who the hell is he? He just showed up one day, never says anything. KILL HIM! Haha.

Maggie stays, though, because she's too cute.

Correction: too hot.

Just wait, Ken...I bet you dollars to donuts that a certain kitana-wielding chiquita with massive men issues and a couple pet zombies minus their bottom jaws will be waiting for us at the end of the next episode...I can't wait to see if I'm right...

Balor, is that a reference to the comics?

I've never read them...

It is, John. They're really freaking good, especially as the series goes on. Actually, I think they have the first 50 issues collected in one massive volume. Worth checking out.
