"Hide the Sickness," by Mercedes M. Yardley (Article)

Post by Kenwood on Tue Jul 20, 2010 5:28 pm

In issue #2 we have a new section called Abominations. This is a nonfiction section, one which focuses on real-life horrors in a seemingly fictional way. There is nothing fictional about it, however, which makes it far scarier.

Anyone wishing to add some thoughts about this particular story and/or author, feel free to do so here. Praise and criticism is encouraged equally, but please keep the latter on the constructive side.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

Even though this was a completely chilling and disturbing piece, I really enjoyed it.

I have some experence myself with kids like those Merc describes here. It's chilling and heartbreaking at the same time. Very well done. headbang

I wonder if everyone realizes this isn't fiction.

It certainly doesn't read as fiction.

I thought this was a fascinating read, very gripping. And actually worried that Mercedes wasn't going to get out of their unscathed.
