I LOVE this film. Everyone else I know thinks it's shite.

I won't entertain watching the second one.

May be opening myself up for a slamming here, but did you go online for the explanations of certain things, or just took what you could from the film?

Ah you should, man. Seriously cleared up some things for me. I think Gramma Death's book is online. Something in the back of my mind (stuffed between the other shit stored there) tells me a special edition of DD came out, WITH a copy of the book. I dunno. Maybe I made it up.

You must live in Bizarro World, because everyone I know loves that movie.

Donnie Darko is amazing. I wish you could still buy the old, non-director's cut version (can you?).

You could probably find it somewhere Aaron. I know that we can get all kinds of stuff ordered in from the net at my store. Try Borders.com, B&N or Amazon... if that doesn't work you can probably just type in Donnie Darko unedited or something like that to a keyword search and one should pop up anywhere...

It is a phenomenal movie. I haven't met anyone who didn't like it.

Same here. But if I'm remembering correctly, this is a movie everyone said was shit when it first came out, and then it started becoming something of a cult classic so those same people jumped on the bandwagon, like they do. Hate those people.

I also hate those that love something until too many—however many that is, I don't know—other people do, then they declare it shit.

Anyway, I've never seen this movie. Always thought it looked retarded. Maybe I'm retarded.

I was skeptical Ken, then one day it was on and I couldn't seem to look away. I highly recommend watching it. Even if it's only once. Though I do believe that it has some hypnotic powers.

I just watched this for the first time. Totally, totally dug it. And the music was incredible.

Gary Jules' version of Mad World is still the only version I accept as being real, even though it wasn't even the first.

Love that song.

Ken, if you still haven't watched it, give it a shot. I'm usually a grumpy bastard about these things before I try them, but Donnie Darko is the real deal.

But I'm only saying that because I'm under hypnosis.
