Free Album From Envinity

Post by Kenwood on Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:58 pm

Got this e-mail today:

Greetings friends,

This is Niko from the band Envinity (you may remember us under the former name 'Envy'. And no, we're not the Japanese band, sorry).

The reason you are receiving this email is because at some point in time you've purchased a copy of one of our previous albums, "Empyreal Progeny" and/or "Sweet Painful Reality" from CDBaby.com (or perhaps in a sketchy back alley somewhere).

First off, thank you, and hopefully you actually enjoyed them (I hear one or two people did).

Before I get to the really cool news, and the real point of this email, I want to quickly say that I apologize for the lack of communication on our part. For all I know, this may be the first time you've heard from us in years. Perhaps ever. I'm sorry. I feel like an ass.

We're doing our best to change that, with our new blog and Facebook page. So if you're interested in having a dialog, or keeping up on our projects, we'd love to have you over for tea and crumpets. (Tea and crumpets not provided).

Now onto the big, exciting news.

On Halloween, after over five years of hard work and several fatalities, we finally released our intensely epic concept album, "Moira's Lake" as a digital download.

...And the really cool part for you, is that you can have it for FREE!!

Seriously. Take it. For FREE.

I'll save you the details of the story and music, and instead let you discover the experience for yourself:

The Westword, a local arts and culture paper in Denver, somehow found out about our new album already and wrote:

"If you like your metal complex, melodic and focused on weighty matters such as mysterious murders and supernatural occurrences, have we found something you're going to love."

Read the whole article by going here: http://blogs.westword.com/backbeat/2009/11/freeloader_download_envinitys.php

Pretty nice of them eh? As I said, we never asked them to write anything, they discovered us, and felt compelled to say something!

Again, sorry to leave you in the dark for so long, perhaps a FREE album will make up for it?

...yes?

...no?

Maybe not. But what have you got to lose?

Thanks for your time, I hope talk with you soon.

Niko
I bought the first two albums for $5 each from CD Baby, and they're excellent. Very modern progressive rock/metal. Listen to some tunes:

I'm so going to snag this. They hooked me with the album name. I LOVE the name "Moira". It means "bitter".

It comes with an entire story. I'm going to read through it. Might be cool.

I really hate to see bands have to put out albums for free, you know. Just burns my biscuits! Haha.
