Re: Daily Rant/Shark Thread

A few years ago, my husband and I took a trip to Atlantis (on Paradise Island) in the Bahamas. They have a huge aquarium with a tunnel. When you walk through the tunnel and look up, you see sharks. We went through it at 2:00 a.m. when all the lights were off and you could only see the sharks as dark shadows, until they moved overhead and you could see their pale bellies. I'd go back there in a heartbeat, just for the sharks.

I have a framed picture on a dresser in my bedroom of one of the sharks. Smile

It was. We spent hours in that tunnel.

I could get into that, enjoying the feel of danger all around you in a place you know is safe.

But is it? IS IT REALLY? What about Jaws 2: Sharks in Sea World or whatever show it was where the shark bit right through the tunnel? Twisted Evil

But that's the joy of it, letting your imagination fly. It's so easy in spots like that. Course water pressure alone could snap that baby. Just one little pin-size leak....

That is so cool and so freaky.

Last night I watched an episode of River Monsters about piranhas, and it warped me a little.

My oldest boy would just about sacrifice a testicle or two to go to that, Merc. He hearts on sharks so much he has them on his undies. I'm serious. He says there is nothing wrong with a "boy growed" (yes, he does understand the literary association with that word) wearing sharks... or rubber duckies.

My son has shark undies, too. And shark shirts. Shark night-night diapers. Shark lunch box.

But then, I do the shopping for him. Wink

We hit the Shark Reef here before, and while it's a little disappointing because it's so extremely small, I'm just happy to be seeing some sharks in the desert. Since we know what to expect, this can only be cooler. Very Happy

I wish you could send your son via UPS, Effie! I'd take him with me.

Vanity plate seen today: SHARKS!!

Ok, so it was probably sports, but hey.

I also had a woman go off about the 'damn Yankees' today. 5-minute rant. She left, and the woman behind me said 'You're a Yankee, aren't you?" I said "close enough, and I'm dating one", and we had a good laugh.

People are special.
