Perfect Creature

Post by Kenwood on Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:33 pm

Saw a preview for this before watching Pathfinder the other night.

Anyone see this? Kind of has a Dark City look. I was intrigued, anyway.

Sadly it wasn’t that great. HOWEVER, it had heaps style to spare! While the story was only so-so the look of the world they set it in was wonderful. And besides, everything can be made better with zeppelins! They’re like knives, or peanut butter, or pandas…ok, I’ll stop now. But seriously, a good movie to watch at least once if for no other reason than to drink in the aesthetics of the world it created.

better get your boner revved up...I am putting the finishing touches on my script....it's about these pandas who hijack a zeppelin full of peanut butter and fight capture with their big knives....Linnea Quigley plays the female lead Panda...fully naked throughout the entire film.

featuring a soundtrack of cheesy 80's metal to boot!!!

At some point, we have to do a humorous horror anthology like Dark Jesters.

It's the tagline for the urban white-boy zombie story. There's a rap song that goes, "They see me creepin', they be hatin'." Or something like that.

It will have to be a collaboration. A terrible, terrible collaboration!

I'd love to see that, but it's a fine line to tread. Who was it that said "In the wrong hands, horror becomes comedy and the comedic becomes a dirge"?

Something like that anyways. Maybe it was SK from Danse Macabre.

The point is, horror comedy would be tough.

I want to read Dark Jesters. At Necon, Nick Cato was talking to me about it. He mentioned one story where two people break into Dracula's castle intent on killing him, but then one guy gets the runs. Or something like that. Sounded hilarious, though.

And Mercedes had a tale almost make it, right? I wouldn't mind reading that one. You all remember my quickly abandoned start of a draft, right? I shall post it!

Darren's ass itched.

He was sitting in a movie theater. They were showing the horror classic Night of the Living. It was one of his favorites. But goddamn his ass itched.

It wasn't the kind of itch a little butt cheek shifting would quell, this was something more insistent. Some of the other moviegoers were giving him odd looks, some flashing anger.

During a particularly dark scene, he reached down to give it a good, long scratch. Slowly the theater began to lighten; he felt like a spotlight was shining directly on him. Everything began to fade.

Darren woke to the morning sun illuminating his window shades.

His butt pulsed. Pulsed! It's the only word he could come up with. He reached beneath the blankets and his hand latched onto an arm, its finger diddling his ass-hole.

"Jacob! You motherfucker!"

Darren flung the arm to the floor, jumped out of bed, and got dressed. The arm crawled toward the door.

Jacob's room was down the hall. Darren entered unannounced, clutching Jacob's right arm. Jacob lay sprawled on the bed like an autopsy patient. If it weren't for his snoring, he could pass for just that.

Darren took Jacob's unattached arm and placed its index finger above Jacob's upper lip--or where the lip had been, anyway. What remained of his nose twitched like a rabbit sniffing around for food. A small smile stretched the rotting mottled skin that still clung to his face.

"You disgusting prick," Darren whispered.

He pulled the arm back high above his head, and brought it down on Jacob's skull with a crispy thwack! Jacob's body sprang up, his left eye fell out of its lidless socket and dangled against his cheek.

"What the fuck did you do that for, man?" Jacob shouted.

"How many times do I have to tell you to lock your door at night. I'm sick of being ass-raped by you in the middle of the night."

"It's not my fault! That's not my arm," Jacob said. "Well, it's mine now, but it belonged to Mr. Williams down the street, remember? Dude was a weirdo."

"Can't you find another arm, then?"

"I can try, but you know they don't always take."

Darren threw the arm onto Jacob's bed.

"Thanks," Jacob said. "Sorry about that. Hey--did you fart? I smell shit."
Ah, so bad. Haha.

"But goddamn his ass itched" might be my catchphrase for September. I'm gonna throw it into random conversations.

You guys read my rejected Dark Jesters tale, since ST rejected it as well. Laughing

Jameson, you made it to one of the final rounds in DJ, though, didn't you? Me too. And then they called us losers and cut us loose. Sad
