I wish they'd stop trying to make every damn book into a movie. Going to be really pissed if this is garbage. Mad

My first thought is to tell you to prepare to be really pissed, but then I’m a cynic. Twisted Evil

Yeah, I don't think it's going to be nearly as good as what I've thought up in my head. Hopefully they'll wuss out and that'll be the end of it.

They'll fuck it up, in my opinion the only decent King adaption ever has been DEAD ZONE.

What, you didn't like Shawshank? Or Stand By Me? How about Carrie?

oh yeah.....CARRIE was spot on (the original)...STAND BY ME was okay....Shawshank, I liked too...But from a faithfullness to the book standpoint, DEAD ZONE is one of the better ones. But they all strayed a bit.

I read a rumor somewhere a little bit ago that said Abrams was trying to lure Viggo Mortenson in to play Roland, which would be much better casting than Bale. MUCH better.

The absolute worst in this regard was LAWNMOWER MAN. There is nothing - NOTHING - in the movie that had anything to do with the story. It's like they took the title and said, "hey, let's use that, put it as the header for this screenplay, slap King's name on it, and we're off!"

I agree, but if he's smart, Mortenson won't touch it with a ten foot pole, and not just because of the very high probablility that the movie will suck.

No love for The Green Mile? That is an awesome adaptation, and almost word for word what King wrote.

The Mist is another great King movie.

I don't know about that. There have been some solid King adaptations over the years.

Maximum Overdrive being the best, of course. lmao

Lots of Bale hate these days. I don't get it. Dude's a fantastic actor. Sure, he's been in some turdly flicks but he's also been in some awesome ones.

I forgot about that one. Yes, very good.

As for The Mist...the ending really bothered me. It was such a stomach-punch after a long two hours of tension, and I didn't see it coming. Not that it's not a brilliant ending - it is. But I have absolutely no desire to ever see it again. Ever.
