TRICK R' TREAT

Post by Shiney on Sun Sep 06, 2009 7:48 pm

No, Not the shitfest from 1987 with Skippy from FAMILY TIES.....

I cannot tell you all how excited I am that this is finally getting a release. I have been wanting to see this since it first made it's appearances in the film fest circuit in late 2007...then sat in limbo all last year and this one...until now. Finally this comes to dvd on october 6th.

giggity!!!

YAY! Been waiting for this as well, thanks for the link to the trailer. This is an anthology, isn’t it?

And is anyone else bummed that original flicks like this can get canned for a year then dumped direct to DVD but horrid remakes and insipid sequels are green lit every five seconds? Crying or Very sad

Yeah, I first heard about this one a couple years back and have been waiting impatiently for it (along with The Wolf Man). rockon

At least that 1987 flick had a soundtrack from Fastway. Gawd I remember seeing that one in the theater.

And it's a killer album, too!

Hopefully this new movie kicks ass. rockon

Indeed! I've run the charge down on my ipod a couple of times just listening to it. My favorite tune is "Don't Stop the Fight." headbang

It's got a good buzz still. I hope it lives up to it.

I'll be sure to watch it. I always managed to avoid the 1987 release.

Hmmmmm, certainly looks interesting. And I never saw the original. Sounds like that's a good thing.

FYI it’s not a remake of that so-bad-it’s-awesome-heavy-metal-horror-show-staring-the-kid-that-played-Skippy. (heh, using –‘s is fun). No, this one is kind of a horror anthology, although it’s actually a series of interconnected short stories all taking place on the same Halloween in the same small town in Ohio.

My mini review: pretty good, but not great. While it had some interesting ideas it just wasn’t all that scary nor was it campy-cool in a Creepshow way. A fine, fun flick but not a classic. Although “Sam” was pretty cool.

I just finished watching this...and it's good. Nothing earthshattering. the writing seems a bit lazy to me...I saw all the twists coming but it's still a fun film....and I liked the neat ways all the stories intersected. If you're tired of all the pretty teenage serial killer shit or "remake of the month" offerings, then this will do nicely.

I just watched this last night... Pretty good. The writing is better than most horror flicks, but not top notch. It reminded me of a Pulp Fiction knock off, but I'm A PF fanboy, so that's not a bad thing.

Overall I was satisfied... it's a good flick. The ending was too abrupt, though. It was like they got almost all the way there and then gave up. 9/10
