I know you've never heard these cats either...THE BEAUTIFUL

Their "Storybook" album is an absolute masterpiece...drummer Frank Ferrer went on to join the new version of GUNS N' ROSES...the other 2 members disappeared....Killer stuff!

Haha, wow. That sounds great, makes me think of Primus and Mr. Bungle a bit. Speaking of new Guns N' Roses, I'm seeing them on Thursday - a friend hooked me up with a free ticket for one of their London dates. I'm fully expecting Sebastian Bach's support set to be better than the main show ;P Still, any excuse to see Buckethead live!

On an unrelated note, I'm on a bit of The Cure kick and whilst I adore the gloomy stuff like Pornography, this song always makes me happy.

Check out Robert Smith's dance moves. He looks so much like an evil clown nowadays, though.

I don't know, I'm not hugely familiar with the Cure but I have certainly heard a few tracks I'm not particularly fond of.

As for the CD, don't go out of your way to get it. But if you see it for cheap, I'd certainly be interested.

So, I saw Axl & The Roses the other day (and just realised I put Buckethead instead of Bumblefoot in the above post). They were surprisingly good, no tantrums, Axl even sounded decent. Plus, Duff McKagan came on for around five songs which was amazing. They also played 'Patience', which is probably one of my favourite songs ever.

A new Electric Six album came out about a month ago and I was completely unaware. It's awesome. This is the opener (the video is fanmade, I believe);

You've never heard Electric Six? 'Danger (High Voltage)' and 'Gay Bar' off their first album, Fire were absolutely huge over here in 2003. Unfortunately, they got written off as a complete novelty act. It's a travesty though, as they've been putting out an album every year since 2005, with each one being a consistently strong record of genre-blurring rock. The only minor slip was I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me from Being the Master. but even that has its moments.

Electric Six are basically one of my all time favourites. They're absolutely ridiculous but incredibly infectious. The summer that I got Fire, I was 14 and played that thing to death. They're also an incredible live band, can't wait to see them again in December.

Shiney, I only know 'This Town Isn't Big Enough For The Both Of Us'. I really should check them out properly, where should I start?

Yeah, this is all rather fantastic. I'd forgotten how creepy Ron Mael is. I was first introduced to Sparks when Ron guested on a music panel show we have over here, called Nevermind The Buzzcocks. He gave me the chills.

Never heard either song. I left England in November of 2002. I imagine I'd know them I stayed. They have a Franz Ferdinand vibe, and I love those guys.

I'm just surprised neither of those songs took off in the US, as the band are from Detroit. Still, they do seem to have some kind of cult following over here. I'd agree that they have a Franz Ferdinand vibe, but Electric Six take the... bizarreness a hell of a lot further.

Freedom Call were playing a gig in a small venue not far from me last night. Went along with some people I knew from the Bloodstock festival and proceeded to get quite merry / drunk. High fived Chris Bay at the end. It was a very fun night, all around.

Today's song is by the experimental Swedish metal band, Freak Kitchen. I've always enjoyed their stuff - light-hearted, rocking and damn impressive guitar noodling. They made a rare trip to the UK this week so I saw them live for the first time on Friday in a tiny venue here. Was right at the front and it was great fun. Hilarious live band. This was the song of the set for me;

Wish I could find In The Dynamite Jet Saloon on CD though!

Of course I'll owe you, man! Don't worry if you can't find it, though. It's bizarre, you'd think Dogs releases would be relatively easy to find over here in Blighty but they're really, really not.

Just bought the 4-disc "Omnibus Edition" of The Cult's Love. The extras and the box set itself are like a collector fanboy's wet dream. What a band!

I've been abusing rEVOLVEr a lot in the last two weeks. When you're really in the mood for something heavy, this hits the spot perfectly;

Forgot to say, I heard the new one - Unseen - pretty recently. Very different, but I really dug it. It seems a bit more restrained, but it works.
