Weird, creepy, animated, Lovecraftian, what’s not to like?

Another great short film that I saw on HBO way back in the day was this: Recorded Live. I really wish HBO, or any other cable company for that matter, would start showing shorts again between their feature presentations. Some were really great and where else can you watch this stuff?

When you reply or make a post there’s a button up top on the toolbar that looks like a piece of film. Click on that and then past the internet address of your vid clip in there and big, bang, boom, you’re done.

*edit* like so (here is your video)

This is more of a straighforward short horror film.

It has a certain inevitibilty to it, but I will say the squeamish amongst us might enjoy a shiver or two.

I can't remember where I first saw this - if it was someone here who'd already posted the link I apologise.

yeah it's a music video...TOOL's "Prison Sex"

I really was into TOOL up throguh their fantastic "Aenima" album, then the sort of got all overblown and the songs were all 10 minute droning opuses (opii?) and I thught...what a bunch of pretentious poop...

But yeah this is cool.

I'll admit, I've not been following this thread, but those last two were wicked. The Crispin Glover video in particular.

I don't know it anyone else will like it, but this one had me mesmerized:

I hadn't watched this one yet, but it's quietly beautiful. The empty sleeves were surprisingly sinister.

I thought maybe I had BO that no one would tell me about. Smile

And that 60 second surreal was only 24 seconds! What a gyp, although it was cool.

Ok, I don't don’t know if it’s surreal, unless you count someone getting really stoned and making an infectious pop tune about an amazing horse (that tastes just like raisins) accompanied by crazy ass flash cartoons as “surreal”, but this video had me in fits. So if you want a laugh then you can go HERE.

P.s. not safe for work, or kids, or those prone to getting songs stuck in their head, or fans of lemonade.

This is a short bit from the opening scenes of the totally bizarro 1991 film, BEGOTTEN. It was directed by E. ELIAS MERHIGE...who later directed SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE and SUSPECT ZERO.

This is surrealism as it should be...is it a parable about mankind and their killing of all deitic notion and raping their Mother (Earth)? Is it just a hallucinatory fever dream...

Is it a big festering burrito of demented goodness?

The answer is yes...to all....

basically that is "God" who in a fit of rage and hopelessness commits suicide by mutilation...."Mother Nature" enters and "steals his seed" to impregnate herself...but the child she bears is faawed...a palsied and shambling thing...and the hooded followers who revelled and worshiped him, turn on him and kill him...It's very darkly abstracted Biblical allegory...totally haunting and worth seeing.
