Nope, never have. Actually, some books that might be good for me to
re-read are the Narnia Chronicles. Some great childhood memories
associated with those books.

Dude, at a book sale once, I bought all the Discworld books up through Feet of Clay, and I just could not get into them at all. And I expected Monty Python, you know. I just found it all very dull. Is his style different in Good Omens?

I've only read Fragile Things, his short story collection, and a lot of the tales bored me. I have his latest and American Gods, which Chris tells me is one of the best books he's ever read. The dude can write, no doubt, but his collection is a bit meh.

His earlier collection of horts and bit was great...I can't recall the title at the moment....

"American Gods" is cool...

I was in and out of Fragile Things, but I liked Neverwhere. Want me to send you a worn and tattered copy? Also, although the main character is supposed to look a lot like Gaiman, I totally imagined him as 7, since 7 is now my template for all things British.

I just finished up The Company by K.J. Parker. She is wonderfully brutal. No heroes, no villains, just ordinary (if severely talented) people slowly spiritually annihilated into their component particles due to their courage and/or love and/or loyalty. It's a S&M kind of joy reading her novels, they draw you in and suck you through the emotional meat-grinder along with the characters.

I finished Ketchum's Off Season. I found it sort of meh. I want to like Ketchum, I really do, but I've read a few of his tales, and he just does not do it for me.

Now I'm reading The Gathering Storm by Jordan/Sanderson. I know this series gets a lot of flack, but I've always liked it.

I dig Ketchum, you should try his book, "Red"...it's pretty decent..and his collection called "Peaceable Kingdoms" has some groovy dark things in it.

Have you read any Ray Bradbury? (Shut Up, Ken!!!)

Yep, I like Bradbury, Shiney. I think my problem with Ketchum is that I just can't lose myself into his tales. Not sure if it's his writing style, or his characters, or his stories. I just chalk it up to different tastes and all that.
