Moving To The Trailer Park

Post by Kenwood on Sun Apr 19, 2009 10:55 pm

Should I move to a trailer park to pursue a career in writing? It'd be cheap rent, a nice area, no crime, closer to work...but it would be a trailer.

My father and his lady-friend share one now, and it's actually really nice. It's like 40 years old, but perfectly functional. They're planning on buying a new one a few towns over. (I guess that trailer love gets in your blood). They said I can rent it for like $700 a month. I have nothing against this, of course, but I will have to fight someone if they make jokes. And they will, because I've made those kinds of jokes a million times! Haha.

Whatever, though. I'll rock it trailer fabulous. Def

I'd live in a cardboard box if it helped me pursue my writing goals. But then, that's...practically a trailer. Wink

Oh, there will be jokes.

It's an option. I guess it's up to the dogs, and how much of your stuff you want to sell or storage or allow to be stolen.

lol

It's right next to an old folks trailer park. I guess there is no crime. And it's big. I don't think I'd need to sell/store anything.

You'll be getting people peeking out from behind their curtains when you're in the yard. Suspect

No shame in a trailer, my first house was a trailer. I rented it for several years after I bought the house we're in now and ended up with an overall profit when I sold it. headbang

Me and the ex looked at one when we first moved off base in Arkansas. Down there, they don't specify if it's a trailer or not. It was just a "house." We roll up to a really nice house, and we're like, "No way!" Sadly we were right. A lovely elderly couple (the owners) greeted us and pointed across the street to the house they were renting. A trailer.

Honestly, it was really nice inside, and it was extremely cheap. We would have been making a ton of extra cash a month. The deal breaker was--besides tornados--the outside of the trailer. It was pink. Haha. I'm a manly man and all, and I do have some pink work shirts, but I draw the line at a pink house.

And gloves.

I lived in trailers off and on alot in my youth...My mom didn't buy us a house until I was in like 8th grade....no shame in it.

It's a place with a roof over your head...fuck what folks think, and if you can make fun of yourself then there are no problems at all...

Maybe you'll have enough room to not have to sell off your collection...

The problem with that is not having shelves. They don't make wall-sized CD shelves for retards with 6,000 CDs. Haha.

I'm dying! This is awesome! We totally used those for shelves when I was a kid! They also make your bed taller so you can stash more stuff under it. Wink

Take the trailer and have a fantastic toilet-seat and tomahawk throwing party. I'll show up in hotpants and wearing a purple scrunchy in my hair. You guys should, too!
