Re: Shock Totem Family Photo Album

Let's liven this thread up a bit. I took these photos while on vacation.

Up in Maine, out fishing on Salmon Lake one day, I notice these purple masses in the water. As I got closer, I see that they're moving. So I assumed they were balls of bait fish. Then I noticed the mass appeared to be on the water, not in it. So I crept closer, and all of a sudden, these things scatter everywhere, like the mass exploded.

They were water bugs. Totally weird. I'd never see anything like it before. I took some photos and moved on.

Isn't that a bit creepy? Those eyes...BLECH! And while we're here, a few of my dumb gangsta ass:

That bottom photo rules. Laughing

Just for the record, that hat is sideways as a joke. I don't ever wear it like that. Shiney took away some cool points because of that. =(

Gold? She's got the droopy-eyed look of someone thinking, "This dude is a dope."

This is me, shitting bricks outside Stephen King's house in Bangor, 2008. Awesomest! Rented a Mustang and drove up from Boston.

Sweet! Somehow I thought his house would be accompanied by more acreage and be set farther off the road. Like this:

No, it's on a street...in town.

It looks like he got new fence since I was there in 1989...It used to have Spiderwebs and bats in the ironwork...MAYBE since his stalker problems and whatnot he's decided to go for a more inconspicuous decor.

I thought I remembered someone saying that about the gate, but I figured the angle might be wrong to see it.

Nah they're still there, Shiney. It's not the best of photos. I didn't realise that both those houses (the white and red) are his. The webs and bats are in infront of the red one. I've got those pics too. When we got there the gates were wide open. We could have walked right up the drive. If we wanted to.

Get arrested.

Gorgeous, gorgeous houses. And you're adorable. And you're carrying a man bag!

I'm not familiar with King's stalker problems, but it doesn't surprise me at all. The world is full of weirdos.

Ha ha. Thanks Mercedes. And yes, a man bag. I'm so glad you called it that, and not my handbag. Then we may have an issue.

The houses were beautiful. As I'm sure Shiney will second, Bangor was an eerie place to be. I have some awesome pics of the Bangor Standpipe, the big standpipe from It. And the bird bath.

And it's such a normal town. Went to Bett's Bookstore just down the road, had a chat with the fella there. Nice guy. Says it's nothing to see King walking to the store across the road to pick up a bit of food, etc. Nobody bothers him.

Was an awesome few hours.

I attended colege in Quincy, Ma but a friend of mine lived in Maine...took me on a "tour" of Bangor and areas, It was sooo cool to see things and place mentioned in the books. And he told me the same thing, King is treated as "town folk" noone bugs him, if they do stop him or whatever he is usually cordial, but then he knows them to be outsiders....

I hope you're formulating a plan now, on how to deal with your stalkers when you're big time novelist. :perv:

I wonder who gets more stalkers on average, male or female writers?
