Tell ME!

I smacked into a deer while driving my Geo Metro back in college. Busted out the windshield, back window, and the driver's side door was crumpled in so badly that I was pinned to my seat for a while before squirreling out. It never opened again. I replaced the windshield, kicked the door out enough that I could get back into the drivers seat, and had the Garbage Bags of Freedom flying high in the window. Drove that thing for at least another year. It was awesome.

After my Dad left us, we moved around a lot for a while. Rentng houses and trailers and we were living in a trailer about 3 miles outside of town. It was a double wide that had apparently not been wide enough, so Bob Villa Foxworthy had built an additon onto the living room.

It was Christmas morning, 1979, my little brother and I are excited, we're probably like 9 and 6 years old...Ross starts jumping up and down by the broke ass tree and giggling over the few presents. I'm hoping mine are STAR WARS figures.
We hear a tremendous creak and the living room falls down, see, it had never been anchored or anything it was a fucking barn shed thing set up on cinder blocks level with the trailer and then caulked and adhered.

Good times, I tell ya.

For those of you who don't know, Smindy is standing next to one of the greatest unsung genius songwriters of the last 20+ years, GINGER of the fantastic band, THE WILDHEARTS.

I know, it's a travesty. There are so few song-writers who write choruses like Ginger. He's got the Cheap Trick-level of infectious song-writing down to a T.

However, I've noticed at pretty much every Wildhearts / Ginger gig I've been to, I'm amongst the youngest audience members there. Most of Ginger's fanbase seem to be people who were early 20s in the mid-90s. I guess Ginger just hasn't seen much, if any, big exposure since then. It's a shame, the man deserves a much bigger audience.

Ginger was on Red Eye once or twice before. It's a hilarious political talk show on Fox News at 3 AM. A shame it's on so late, though.

Ha, didn't know G had been on it. I've seen Andrew W.K. on it a couple of times which was... interesting. Red Eye seems like the only tolerable thing on Fox News, really.

Fox is okay during the day when they're doing world news, but once evening hits, it's all worthless biased political nonsense. But yeah, Red Eye rules.

Ginger was on with Michael Monroe, actually.

Truth be told, I find American news as a whole a bit hard to stomach. I think the BBC is annoying and all but there's a bit less rampant fear-mongering over here (though, only marginally). But yes, my main issue with Fox is the biased political nonsense. Any channel that has given regular air time to Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck has its priorities skewed.

I totally agree. I AM American, and when the news about Osama broke it was the BBC websites I was looking up for info...figured they'd sensationalize all of it a little less. But still... rockon naughty
