He won't read it. he just likes the look of them. He's an odd duck, our Udo.

Doing my part to support other writers I just received my copy of

Shiny Thing

Eighteen short stories by Patricia Russo.

From Papaveria Press

It's available on Amazon. She's a very talented writer and you won't be disappointed.

Stixx, if you like Patricia Russo, we have one of her stories appearing in Issue 23 of Electric Velocipede. Her story will be online in mid-November. (Shock Totem folks, it is okay if I mention that? It will be free online to read, so I'm not trying to drum up money for the EV zine here on the ST forum.)

We? You work for them?

And of course, you can post about them here. Just don't do what others have done and be sneaky about it (though I doubt we have to worry about that from you). =)

Yes, I'm an Assistant Editor with EV now. A quick and dirty as to how it happened: I sold them a story, subsequently got to know John Klima, the editor, on Twitter, he was looking for help, I offered, and voila! Smile And no, I will not be sneaky about it. I promise.

I just bought baby legwarmers so my little one won't get carpet burns while she's learning to crawl. And I am DYING to pick up a jeweler's anvil, but I need to earn crafty stuff with workouts. (sigh)

I will soon have siding and new windows put on my house, including a bay window where there was no bay window before. This may cost me a penny or two... pale

Yeah, bay windows are not cheap. One possible alternative is to order three separate windows and frame in for them to create a bay window. Talk to your contractor, though, because many times it costs you more in labor than it would have to just order the bay from the factory.

Out of curiosity, what brand window are you getting and what is the material?

Last weekend we picked up a '94 Formula with the intention of cannibalizing its engine (plus a new head gasket), trany, gears, and rear end suspension to Frankenstein into my '95 Firebird (formerly a V6).

Later, we'll strip out the Formula and my hubs and his Engine Master's guys are going to put together an engine, et al, turning this car into my drag car with a destination of Bonneville in a couple of years. Very Happy

Part of the great deal we got on the Formula included taking a '94 Z28 in wretched cosemetic condition (cracked wing/deck lid, clear coat is peeling off in enormous patches, interior is trashed) but my hubs was more than happy to have it. He has the skills to fix the engine and the body damage. Once he has, it'll make a great drag car for him and with two, we won't have to worry about seat adjustments to accommodate the 10 inch difference in our heights.

Very Happy

ETA: Pics can be seen at my hubs shiny new website. The two new lovelies are at the bottom of the Projects page. http://dalzellracing.weebly.com/projects.html

Hmm ...

Ok try this link. http://dalzellracing.weebly.com/

It should take you to the website home page, pics are under Projects.

Details to be provided as I pluck them from my hub's head - he's the brains and how-to guy behind it all, I'm merely the eventual ghost writer of his blog/organizer of his website and eventual driver. He's been busy - he's also the fix-it guy around here and I break a lot of stuff - but promised he'd start writing down details of the first project - his Mustang - very soon.

Very Happy

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. They are Ellison windows, vinyl, with argon gas between panes.

Oh no sweat, I'm just curious because I sell windows. I've never heard of Ellison before, but I looked them up. They look nice!
