Post by Kenwood on Tue Apr 14, 2009 9:27 pm

No forum is complete without a Recent Purchases thread. So have at it. What have you blown your money on recently?

Derek Trucks Band, The - Already Live (EP)
Sixteen Horsepower - Low Estate **

Whitestarr - Fillith Tillith

** From SwapaCD.com.

I also bought some Chinese food and a Pepsi.

Man, your thrift stores are so much better than mine. Most of the thrift shops around here have no music CDs. The only CDs they'll have will be like 20 copies of How To Install Windows 3.1 or Sing The Hymns Like The Pros.

Last month I bought a 2009 Chevy Malibu.

Then last week I went crazy at the book store, like I usually do, buying:
The Dictionary of Mythology
The Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures
The Encyclopedia of Ghosts and Hauntings
The Encyclopedia of 1000 Spells
Plus latest issues of Fangoria, HorrorHound and Rue Morgue.

The other day I also bought The Quantum of Solace on DVD.

Couple new CDs:

Dead On Arrival - Alive & Kickin' **
John Sykes - Bad Boy Live! **
Krisiun - Ageless Venomous **
Slide - Down So Long

** From SwapaCD.com.

I also picked up two spinnerbaits for the tackle box, cargo straps and a cart for the kayak. Got a tournament on Sunday and the lake is about a half mile into the woods. We fished there in 2007 and it is not fun dragging a 60lb kayak loaded with gear--making it about 75lbs, at least--through the woods. Not too hard in the morning, but after a long day of fishing, it's brutal on the way back out.

Nice. I really want to check that band out.

My music additions for today:

April Wine - The Nature Of The Beast
Meatmen, The - Cover The Earth
Parry, Ian - Thru The Looking-Glass (w/Bonus Tracks)
Tesco Vee's Hate Police - Gonzo-Hate-Vibe (Reissue w/Bonus Tracks)
Wizard - Magic Circle

And I just found what was rattling under the truck. My yoke on my drive shaft is broken so the drive shaft is rattling around. Not cool. That'll cost me about $500. Sad

I ordered that BLACK RAIN back on valentine's day...it never came and never came...so on ST PATTYS DAY, I emailed the band and asked what was up...they sent out a second copy and that never arrived and never arrived. I contacted paypal and they said that type of transaction was not cover so I was fofed as far as them reimbursing me.

I omed the band again..They asked mt to send them my paypal name and they'd pay me back, all apologies.

I get home from work last night and I find a beat up mailer on the porch from France...postdated Feb 17th. I emailed the band and let them know, they said if the 2nd copy shows up to keep it, to make up for the long waitng...so if it does, You'll get it, Kenro.

We hit Cold Stone Creamery. I bought a small mocha ice cream. With a Heath Bar thrown in there for good measure.

I also bought my best friend some lingerie as a super-late wedding gift. It's feisty.

Why is that not weird for woman? Imagine if I bought Tyrion some pink lace stockings and some cherry-red high heels. It would be awesome, of course, but I'd totally be ridiculed.

Of course you'd be ridiculed! That's a terrible, loli-pr0n combination. Of course if I were to buy those things for TT... Twisted Evil

There are a lot of downsides to being a woman. But being able to buy each other fun things without shame is a total perk! Rah rah, womanhood!
