So many brilliant quotes in that. I take it you've been checking out some of the live footage on Youtube, Ken? If not, here's my personal favourite just for the hilarious faces;

I cannot wait to see this live at Bloodstock.

Shit!

I knew this song reminded me of something.

Nice! Love both songs.

Devin: "I was in THE WILDHEARTS for a while, and I LOVE that song ("Vanilla Radio") so when I was jamming one day, "Resolve" just seemed to happen, and it seemed like a great addition to the record, a great homage to THE WILDHEARTS, and I'm a huge fan of [THE WILDHEARTS frontman] Ginger. In the credits for "Addicted", I made it very clear that "Resolve" was a direct influence from THE WILDHEARTS, so I tried to not "get away with it" more than include it because I thought it was a cool statement."

You only just clicked that now, buddy? The liner notes to Addicted even thanked the Wildhearts. It's a nice homage, really. It works well.

Yup. I probably never read through the booklet. I hardly do that these days. So I'm betting this was the song once called "Wildheart" then.

Yeah, it must be. It wouldn't make sense for it to be any other song, haha.

I love how he took a few lines from a Quiet Riot song, then named the song "Quiet Riot." Haha.

Haha, yeah although isn't 'Cum On Feel The Noize' originally by Slade? They're as worthy as a mention.

I love Devin's 'references' though. He clearly references all of his own stuff constantly by placing a familiar melody / lyric in and it creates a nice commonality between the albums. When he references other people's stuff, it's just as good at making the music seem familiar.

This guy cracks me up! Listen to what Ziltoid (aka Devin) says in the songs. Haha.

By the way, these games seem really hard.

Those videos are genius, Devin is certainly a hilarious man. Apparently there's a free live EP getting released on the Century Media site next Wednesday. Can't wait to hear it, I've been cranking a lot of Dev recently. Really looking forward to seeing DTP in March!

I was just blasting SYL's 'City' this morning on the way to work, although I was dismayed to find it is scratched. I really don't get tired of any of Devin's stuff. It's been a hard sell for my wife though. Glad to see more fans!

There's meant to be a free live EP on its way, being posted on Century Media's website. It's got a bit delayed but in the mean time, Devin has uploaded this off-cut from Ghost;

Sounds rather good to me. Also, this has made me quite excited about Deconstruction;

On a related note, I might be doing a phone interview with Devin next week for my uni's magazine. They want us to review the upcoming London gig and have offered an interview, time permitting for Devin. Holy shit.

Sweet, brother! Devin is a wicked cool guy. I haven't talked to him in ages, but he and his wife Tracy used to be very active on his old Yahoo! mailing list. They were always very cool.

Then he got too popular to maintain an interactive presence with his fans like that. Too many fucking idiots joined and bombarded both of them inane bullshit all day. Bummer.

Anyway, the Ghost track is really cool. Very cerebral, as expected. I'll be adding this one to my writing soundtrack for sure.

And yeah, the Deconstruction clips seems pretty cool. I always wonder what those people think when they're singing for the really heavy stuff. They sure don't look like they listen to that kind of music. Haha.

Awesome. Unfortunately, I have yet to hear anything from our mag's editor so I have a feeling the interview might not happen. Ah well, I'll live!

The free live EP just came out. It's here for anyone interested; http://www.insideoutmusic.com/specials/DTP/

Aside from the hilarious stage banter, I can't get over how ludicrously strong Devin's voice sounds on 'Kingdom'. It's phenomenal. I really can't wait to see DTP again in March!

Also, the orchestra in Deconstruction was a good call. This sounds fantastically grandiose;

Well, that was absolutely incredible. In the last song, 'Bend It Like Bender', my mate Alex (and 14 others) got invited on stage to rock out. He was ecstatic, to say the least! One of the best gigs I've been to, genuinely. Also, got a rather awesome Addicted shirt.

As for the DVD shows, I've got tickets for th eKi gig. Ghost ones are on sale, but honestly, I'm not entirely sure where I'll be in my life at that time - in London, with a job, ideally, but I can't guarantee! I thought it was best to just get tix for the one gig for now. The Addicted and Deconstruction ones have yet to be released, anyway. I adore Ki anyway, I'm really excited to see it in a seated, clean gig context.

N.B. Apologies if this is a tad incoherent, it's been a uh... "heavy" night ;P

Awesome!

I found my ticket for the Norwich gig I saw back when I lived over there. It's the only time I've seen him live. He opened for Godflesh. And it was amazing. Best part of the show was "Earth Day." It was fucking EPIC! Such an amazing tune.

Have you heard the Christine EP yet? If not, I'll hook you up. Looks like Devin used a bit of the song "Processional" on Deconstruction. I heard it in the clips. And that song is brilliant!

Anyway, glad you dug the show. He's such a kick-ass frontman.

Earth Day (and pretty much all of Terria) was the one that made me go back and seek out most all of his stuff. Haven't seen him live yet, I can imagine it's incredible. Very jealous Wink

He played 'Earth Day' followed by 'Bad Devil' last night - I was in heaven, haha. Also, 'Deep Peace' was the penultimate track so it was good to see a couple from Terria duly represented. You're right about Devin being an incredible frontman, he really knows how to command an audience. Can't wait to see the Ki show, though it's a while away yet.

I've yet to hear the Christeen EP, I haven't seen it anywhere around here.
