As soon as I have the internet at home, I will be listening to that sampler on loop. And preordering the album. On a related note, Devin just got announced as playing next year's Bloodstock festival here in Britain - I literally cannot wait 10 months for that.

Okay, being the sly dog I am, I realised there's a headphone port on the library computers. I just listened to that teaser and was blown away. This sounds incredible throughout - familiar enough to sound like Devin but new enough to not be mere repetition. Also, that new version of 'Hyperdrive' gave me chills. Also, the title track is being streamed here; http://www.noisecreep.com/2009/10/06/devin-townsend-universe-in-a-ball-song-premiere/

I actually cannot wait for this album, I've been listening to the title track and sampler a bit too much. The fact that Devin keeps mentioning Def Leppard's Hysteria when talking about Addicted only makes me more excited.

Have you seen the preorder packages as well? They're amazing, I'm going to pick up the uber-deal, with the hoodie and hand-drawn cover when the international orders open up. Who needs money for food when you've got Townsend related goods?

Where is the link to this uber package? The HDR forum is so cluttered.

Library computer is being stupid and freezing the window (still haven't got internet at my flat yet), but there's links to it on the news page of DevinTownsend.com - I believe the links led to the CM Distro website or some such, but it should be quite easy to find in that news feed.

'Bend It Like Bender' is now up on the Myspace, sounds like a fun track but Myspace's low quality does it little favours.

Hehe. I'm at 53% as we speak. I already pre-ordered it, so I don't feel so bad. Can't wait to hear it. =)

Wow! What an outstanding album! Jesus. Far from super-catchy, though. Devin's opinion is always off. Haha. Sure, it's more poppy, but not catchier than anything he's done. It really sounds like Devin Townsend...happy. Not much of a deviation, really.

Some of the more jazzy drumming threw me off, especially during a song like "Supercrush." It just sort of sounded out of place.

Either way, I'm running through my second spin now and I'm loving it. Some of this operatic shit Devin is doing with his voice is killer! And Anneke sounds as beautiful as ever. Such a brilliant singer.

It's a great album from start to finish, no doubt. I really think Anneke's presence takes the album to another level, her vocals are absolutely stunning. Maybe it's not catchier, but it's certainly more accessible an album than most of Devin's stuff which really works in its favour I think.

I will be listening to this a lot, no doubt.

Yeah, it's the perfect mix between Dev's solo stuff and SYL. It's my favorite SYL album, actually.

Yeah, I can see why. It's a lot more digestible than pretty much every other SYL release, probably because it has a bit of a DT solo-vibe at points. I probably prefer it to Alien already, and I loved that album for a while.

I love the song "Fucker." That was Devin's answer to corporate yahoos trying to get him to go mainstream. Word is, he showed them the music first. Haha. That is a total Korn riff! Those record execs probably creamed themselves, because at the time Devin was getting pretty popular. If they could a song on the radio...Devin "would have been huge." So then Devin laced it with all kinds of cuss words directed back at those very same execs. Totally awesome! And it's a great song, too.

Ken, you've made the exact same post about 'Fucker' with the exact same anecdote earlier in this thread, I'm sure of it. Not that I don't appreciate more Devin related knowledge ;P

Ken, be sure to trifle through Devin's day of blogs on metalsucks.net at some point; http://www.metalsucks.net/category/devin-townsend-sucks/

Among some of the posts includes news of a Ziltoid sequel. Awesome.
