Distractions

Post by Mercedes on Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:30 pm

I have been playing Katamari Damacy until my eyes are ready to fall out. The music is in my head all of the time! What are your guys' favorite distractions?

The metal boards, usually. I can waste a lot of time on those without really trying.

Reading or watching TV. I used to play a lot of video games, but not so much anymore.

The internet, probably. I have about nine billion bookmarks; I could sit here for hours just jumping from site to site. I'm usually a bit poorer when I sign off, too, which sucks. Haha.

World of Warcraft is another. Hitting up the used record shops, too. I'd actually rather play Warcraft, though, since it's the cheapest of the three.

Sad I haven't played a MMO since I started writing full-time. I am looking forward to Star Trek Online.

Disappointing. I was hoping to beat God at a game of checkers.

Well, honestly, initially I searched for an emote that was waving a white flag, but I didn't have any luck. Can we just consider it a draw?

How about we call it a draw, and I throw in this to sweeten the deal?

Distractions:

* Twitter.
* Blogs. Of all sorts.
* Cinco. (A game I have on my iGoogle page. It's the devil.)
* AIM.
* Music. I love listening to music, but can't focus on writing with it on.
* Cat. She's never cuter and more obviously in need of my attention than when I'm working hard on editing/writing.
* Food. When I feel like procrastinating, I start turning the kitchen upside-down looking for something to snack on. I should weigh three times as much as I do.
* Checking my e-mail. Obsessively. I'm supposed to hear back from a whole bunch of people about semi-important art and writing-related things.
* Composing a lists of my main distractions to post on a certain forum.
* Everything else. Gosh, these walls are interesting.

I should get back to editing now... Or maybe sleep. Sleep is a good thing, too. Does sleep count as a distraction?
