Haha - maybe I'm just desensitised or incredibly naive. With all the crazy stuff online, it didn't even seem that far outside of the realm of possibility to me. I looked around a bit, though, and turns out it's extensively reported here in a USA Today article from 2006, and there are a couple more sources listed in the Wikipedia article here. Looks like it's genuine. (Though obviously the actual organ harvesting is still up in the air.)

(It was late when I posted this - I should've probably looked for a more reliable source than Geekologie. Sorry about that!)

I don't know. Obviously, if the person is going to die anyways, using their organs for transplant makes good sense on it's face, but it's an ethical minefield.

That's where the whole freedom of choice thing comes in. I mean, sure, I'm an organ donor, but hopefully I'm not going to meet my demise in some dark Bus O' Death. I don't know, though. Vegas is nuts.

And here I thought it was unsuspecting bus passengers that were arriving at their destinations missing a few choice organs. Talk about a steep fee! Imagine would a monthly pass would cost.
